We
live in an age where our young people are bombarded by philosophies
& lifestyles of the world that are neither healthful nor realistic.
Our world tells us that it is better to look good than to actually be
good. It also communicates that as long as it feels good, everything
is fine, no matter what the consequences may be. But it is when we turn
to the truth of God that we see life for what it is. It is a gift of
God where there is forgiveness, healing & abundance of grace. Jesus
said in John 8:31-32, “If you hold to my teaching… you will
know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” It is the goal
of our education ministry to teach & train our students to walk
in the life-saving truth of God.
Every week, there are 3 regular meetings for the YG.
Sunday Worship Service
(11:15 a.m.)
It takes place in the fellowship hall / gym. It is open to all students
who are in 7th through 12th grade. It is a time of rejoicing, it is
a time of loving our Lord & being loved, and it is a time of being
challenged by God’s truth.
Sunday
Bible Study Classes
(12:15 p.m.)
The classes are divided by grades, and currently there are 5 classes.
The curriculum for the YG covers a 6 year cycle. First 2 years (7th
& 8th), we teach the foundational truths of God such as how to gain
salvation, what is worship, what is prayer & so forth. Next 2 years
(9th & 10th) we focus on applications of those truths such as to
pray with Scripture, how to witness. During final 2 years of high school,
our students will learn about godly characters that they need to pursue
as they enter college years & adulthood.
